About Annette Tesoriero, Lead Trainer
I grew up on Sydney’s leafy North Shore and trees have been my passion and solace ever since! In my early twenties I moved to Europe to study classical singing and opera, performing whenever the opportunity arose. Upon returning to Australia I worked as an actor and singer and grew accustomed to the rich albeit impoverished artist’s life. However reality hit hard when motherhood announced itself and encouraged me to find more reliable employment.
I have worked in the disability and aged-care services sector and for eighteen years I managed a US-based students’ support organisation. In this role I became accustomed to managing mental health and other life crises in the student population. With a desire to combine my creative arts background and my management expertise, I took the leap from employment in the tertiary education sector to work with communities on arts and health projects. I am an accredited Principal Master Mental Health First Aid Instructor and safeTALK Facilitator and have been delivering Mental Health First Aid Training since 2007. I enjoy the challenge of facilitating for diverse groups and organisations and since 2010, I have developed and facilitated arts-informed mental health literacy and death literacy programs as well as delivering the suite of Mental Health First Aid courses and SafeTALK.
Academic qualifications include Bachelor of Arts (USYD) and Master of Management (UTS). Additional professional training includes Certificate IV Training and Assessment, Introduction to Clinical Pastoral Care, Grief and Bereavement Support Training and Advanced Leadership and Business Studies.
In addition to the trees that surround me, in the Shoalhaven region, I am passionate about social justice issues and empowering resilient communities through education.
I look forward to working with you to find the right training for your organisation or community.
Annette
